Description

The diversity of disciplines and topics explored in this book, together with the range of authors from every corner of the globe, bear witness to and show the influence of the theological, academic, and ecclesiastical contributions of Professor Gilles Routhier, dean emeritus of the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies of Université Laval, and Superior General of the Seminary of Quebec.

Gilles Routhier is among the contemporary proponents of a scholarly theology that seeks to reflect on a faith rooted in, and in dialogue with, the culture of its time, particularly intellectual culture. In this way, he unequivocally embodies the model of a scholar. His work, with its sensitivity to the universal character of the Church, and to the global dimension of intellectual and academic work, has been disseminated on every continent. The texts collected in this book cover all the major areas of Gilles Routhier’s work, including the history, hermeneutics, and reactions to the Second Vatican Council, synodality, practical theology, missiology, and ecclesiology.
