Description

"Exploring the boundaries that exist between what is in the mind and what is real . . .

Is it imagination, or is it reality? There are no easy answers. For hundreds of years women have used the fantastic in their work as a way of being able to explore and describe conditions in their lives that were suppressed by polite society. These stories became political and psychological subversions of the existing status quo. The stories and poems in this collection carry on that tradition using the juxtaposition of the fantastic and the real to create a sense of entering a place where things happen on many levels at once, in both the conscious and the subconscious mind.

These writings traverse the boundaries between what is born out of repression and societal restraints and what is the reality of the situations the women find themselves in. Whether it is the imagination of the women that has created the worlds they inhabit, or whether the worlds they inhabit truly exist is for the reader to decide."
