Wendy Waring studied in Canada and Belgium before completing a docotrate in Comparative Literature at the University of Toronto. For many years a member of the editorial collective of Fireweed: A Feminist Quarterly, she has edited extensively and published numerous translations and critical articles including Strategies for Subversion: Canadian Women's Writing in Work in Progress: Building Feminist Culture. Wendy Waring is a Research Fellow at the Curtin University of Technology in Perth, Western Australia. She is currently working on a book-length historical analysis and critique of feminist fiction publishing, and a collage of fictional and critical texts tentatively entitled Becoming White.
