Now living in San Diego, Sward is a poet and journalist who worked in Toronto throughout the 1980s as a CBC broadcaster, and journalist for The Toronto Star, The Globe & Mail and The Financial Times. Sward also won the Guggenheim Fellowship to complete a sequence of poems about Chicago combined with family history.
