Özlem Sensoy is an associate professor in the Faculty of Education at Simon Fraser University in British Columbia. She conducts research on social justice education, critical media literacy, and cultural studies. Her research articles have appeared in such journals as Gender and Education, Discourse: Studies in the Cultural Politics of Education, and Race Ethnicity and Education. She is the co-editor of the award-winning books Muslim Voices in School (Sense Publishing, 2009) and Rethinking Popular Culture and Education (Rethinking Schools, 2011).
