Jason Schoonover
Jason Schoonover has been a writer and an ethnological field collector since the 1970s. His collections are found in museums around the world, as well as in private collections. South and Southeast Asia, including the Himalayas, are his main areas of interest. A one-time columnist, he`s widely published in newspapers and magazines, and has a background as an announcer and writer/director/producer in radio and stage.
He was profiled in Jerry Hopkins` Bangkok Babylon: The Real-Life Exploits Of Bangkok`s Legendary Expatriates Are often Stranger than Fiction. Jason is a Fellow of The Explorers Club and a member of the Foreign Correspondents Club of Thailand. He and Su Hattori divide their time between Bangkok, Thailand; Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada; and the rest of the world. Exploring old fur trade and exploration routes by canoe is a favourite passion.
