Deidre Gillard Rowlings

DEIDRE GILLARD ROWLINGS has been an actor for thirty years. She holds a B.F.A. from Memorial University of Newfoundland and is a founding member of independent theatre company Bare Boards Theatre. She played Nurse Myra Bennett for ten years in Theatre Newfoundland Labrador’s touring production of Tempting Providence by Robert Chafe. Deidre has worked with theatre companies across the country, including for four seasons at The Stratford Theatre Festival. She played Violet in Gordon Pinsent’s Heyday! and is featured as an Irish Nun in Discovery’s Frontier and as Shirley in Christian Sparkes’ recent film Hammer. She’s currently co-writing a Newfoundland comedy television series, The Storys; a children’s book, Tickle Bridge Station; and a screenplay, The Devil’s House. She owns a little piece of property in Gros Morne National Park, which she hopes to develop into a skills collective. In her spare time, she is also a casting director and sea glass enthusiast.

Something For Everyone is the third audiobook that Deidre has recorded, the others being Michael Crummey’s Hard Light and The Grey Islands by John Steffler. She is very thankful to have the opportunity to voice Lisa Moore’s jubilant and painful stories. She hopes you enjoy these beautifully crafted and moving tales.
