Norma Jean Profitt has been a member of the Social Work Department since 1999. She has written articles concerning women's issues, social justice, and education in both English and Spanish. Her book Women Survivors, Psychological Trauma, and the Politics of Resistance (Haworth) was published in 2000. She continues to visit and write about Costa Rica.
