Vice-president of Mendel Tours, a company founded in Quebec City to teach Canadian history and culture, Barry Lane has lectured extensively on Canadian Pacific on rail tours and on cruise ships. Born in Regina, he studied history at the Royal Military College of Canada and later served as a staff officer with the United Nations in the Middle East. In the last decade, Lane has scoured archives in Canada, the U.S., and the U.K. to bring together an unprecedented collection of photographs for this book.
