Otto Kelland is best known for his hauntingly beautiful song, "Let Me Fish off Cape St. Mary’s", which has become so widely known that there are those who consider it to be a traditional folk song of Newfoundland. However, Mr. Kelland passed away in July 2004 at his home in Flatrock, Newfoundland. He has been a seaman and a peace officer, and at the time of his retirement was Superintendent of H.M. Penitentiary in St. John’s.
