Ted Johnson grew up in Europe and started skiing in 1975. He spent his school years in Ontario, with weekends spent skiing in the Laurentian Mountains of Quebec. He switched to snowboarding in 1988 and hasn’t looked back since. Ted moved to western Canada in 1993, making a living guiding on the rivers and in the mountains of B.C. and Alberta. He has been exploring the backcountry ever since. Armed with a snowmobile and a splitboard, he is one of a new breed of mountain explorer.
