Lynn Huras, born and raised in the creative environment of the theatre town of Stratford, Ontario, Lynne Huras is a graduate in Art and Art history from the University of Toronto and the studio art program at Sheridan College. Like many artists, she derives her principal inspiration from the breathtaking beauty of nature. On what was to have been a short stop in Banff in 1992, Lynne discovered endless fuel for her artistic passions in the trees, rocks and running waters of the majestic Rocky Mountains. She enjoys spending hours hiking and sketching, absorbing the rich sensations of the natural world, then taking those sketches and feelings home to translate them onto canvas. Her hope is to convey to viewers the peace and awe she finds in our magical home—this planet—and the deep respect she has for our natural environment.
