Eugenie Giasson is the designer and owner of Eugenie Woodcraft in Montreal, Canada, where she makes quality furniture with a timeless look. She started woodworking about 15 years ago when she wanted a few shelves, but couldn’t follow the traditional method of building furniture. She started with a small shop and didn't have room for large equipment. She quickly found she didn't like waiting around for the clamp-and-glue method, so she devised a method of woodworking called the glue-screw-and-cap method. This new method suddenly allowed her to build furniture in a strong, fast, and efficient manner. Soon after, she found that she could embellish furniture with simple motifs carved with a handheld rotary tool. This type of carving is faster than the traditional method of carving, and adds a unique look without slowing down the production time. Eugenie now has over 150 plans, all with customizable color options, that she offers to clients, and can complete projects in a reasonable amount of time. The woodworking plans are available on www.sawtoothideas.com.
