Lawrence Ferlinghetti is an acclaimed poet, activist, anarchist philosopher, and editor. He is one of the founders of City Lights, the legendary bookstore and publishing house in San Francisco, which published the early works of Allen Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac, and many other poets from the Beat generation. Ferlinghetti has authored more than thirty books, including his most acclaimed work of poetry, A Coney Island of the Mind, which has sold more than 1 million copies and has been translated into nine languages. He lives in San Francisco, California.
