Born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan, BERNARD DALY earned a BA in English and Philosophy at St. Thomas More College, University of Saskatchewan. After 10 years as reporter and editorial writer for the Saskatoon Star-Phoenix, he moved to Ottawa to become director of the Information Service of the Canadian Catholic Conference of Bishops until 1967. The highlight of that decade was being a journalist in Rome for the four sessions of Vatican II, 1962-1965. Since 1991, Bernard and his wife Mae have lived in Canada and Grenada, a "retirement" interrupted from 1993 to 1997 when he was the publisher/editor of The Catholic Register in Toronto.
