Saro D’Agostino is an important writer who as early as the 1970s was among the first to write about the Italian Canadian immigrant experience. Even though he published little over his lifetime, his work has influenced many writers including Gianna Patriarca, Pier Giorgio Di Cicco, Luciano Iacobelli, and Mary di Michele.
