Serle Chapman

The author of seven successful titles, Serle Chapman received a 1996 'Book of the Year' accolade in Europe for his first book, and his second, Of Earth and Elders: Visions and Voices from Native America, achieved outstanding international reviews. Former US President Bill Clinton wrote the foreword to his third book, We, The People. Chapman's books have been published in different languages on three continents, and his work has been highlighted on international TV and radio. One of the world’s premiere arts complexes, London’s Barbican Center, described him in their Written America series as, a critically acclaimed writer and one of the world’s leading photographers. The National Geographic Society has endorsed his work, and in 2004 the Associated Press reported that he was considered to be one of America’s fifty most influential writers. In 2004 Chapman was invited to the prestigious Festival America in Paris and an exhibition of his photography opened the festival.In the capacity of both author and photographer, Chapman’s work has appeared in numerous national and international publications, from The Times of London to The Navajo Times.
