About

William Burrill

Just who is this William Burrill? Some say he's the celebrated author of Naked Lunch, a reclusive heroin addict whose radical style revolutionized the way fiction is written. But he's not — that's William Burroughs. William Burrill is the secret love-child of Dave Barry and P.J. O`Rourke, with all the subtleties of Hunter S. Thompson. He is funny, irreverent, charismatic and insightful. He is also dangerous, not only to himself, but also to those around him. BEWARE. Burrill has led a Hemingwayesque life of booze, women, and words in self-imposed exile in Mexico, and has run for mayor of Toronto — three times unsuccessfully. He has been a journalist, a broadcaster, a government propaganda hack, and a night-shift factory drone, but has achieved the most fame and notoriety with his column called "Naked Eye" in Toronto's eye Weekly. He is William Burrill, the man, the myth, the other legend.
