Dominique Bourget

Dominique Bourget is an associate professor of psychiatry at the University of Ottawa and supervises medical students, residents in psychiatry, and fellows training in forensic psychiatry. As a past president of the Canadian Academy of Psychiatry and the Law (CAPL) and chair of the section of forensic psychiatry under the Canadian Psychiatric Association from 1999 to 2005, her reputation as a national and international leader in forensic psychiatry is well established. Her contributions to forensic psychiatry in Canada were recognized through the Canadian Academy of Psychiatry and the Law’s Bruno Cormier Award. Since 2000, Dr. Bourget has been the program director and coordinator of the annual Winter Conference of CAPL, a three-day accredited scientific conference. She was nominated a distinguished fellow with the American Psychiatric Association and the Canadian Psychiatric Association. Dr. Bourget currently practices at the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre in Ottawa.
