Abigael Bohórquez was born in 1936 in Caborca, in the northern state of Sonora, Mexico. He was educated in the visual arts and theatre, which he later taught at the University of Sonora. Bohórquez lived a large part of his life in Mexico City, where he worked in the promotion of literature and culture both at the national level, through INBA, and internationally, through the cultural wing of the Mexico’s External Affairs Department. He died in 1995.
