Jancis M. Andrews was born and raised in England amongst the deafening clamour of the Second World War. At fourteensheran away from a violent home, and did not return to school until she was thirty-seven. Since then she has receivedher BFA from the University of British Columbia.She has won several awards for her short fiction and poetry, including Country of Evil, which won Event Magazine's Non-Fiction Award, was a finalist in the Western Magazine Awards, and is included in this collection. Walking on Water is her second collection of short stories. Jancis now lives in British Columbia.
