About
Flo Anderson
Flo Anderson (1924-2017) was born in Victoria, BC. From 1961 to 1982, she and her husband Trevor and their four children lived at five different BC light stations. At Race Rocks, their last posting, the Andersons spent seven years building a yacht in whatever spare time they could find. Trevor took early retirement in 1982, and over the next thirteen years the family sailed the BC coast and through the South Pacific to New Zealand. Flo and Trevor lived for many years in Sidney and Victoria, BC, before Flo passed away in 2017. Her first and only book, Lighthouse Chronicles, was a BC bestseller when it was published in 1998, and remains a delightful and honest record of what it was like to be a BC lightkeeper in the twentieth century.
