Opal Palmer Adisa

Opal Palmer Adisa, who was born in Jamaica, is a literary critic, writer and storyteller. Her Tamarind and Mango Women (1992) won the PEN Oakland/Josephine Miles Award. Her publications include Pina, The Many-Eyed Fruit (1985), Bake-Face and Other Guava Stories (1986), and travelling women (1989). Her essays were included in Daughters of Africa #&40;1992) and Caribbean Women Writers (1990). She lives and writes in Oakland, California.
