Description

A Book About Acceptance

The Who's Hockey story begins with our hero, Cam, finding her way in a new town after a big family move far away. And though it looks like a normal town, there's something different about it. After Cam is questioned about the shirt she is wearing and about the game she is playing alone in the school yard, it clicks — no one in this far away town has ever heard of hockey! As the world's biggest hockey fan, Cam sets out on an adventure to bring her love of the game to everyone she meets. Along the way, we learn that being a great player has a lot to do with who you are as a person.

Cam's new teammates are all a little different, and everyone is new to the game. But each exhibits extraordinary qualities from the NHL's Declaration of Principles that makes them extra special hockey players — and extra special friends. Thanks to Cam, who recognizes these qualities and knows what it takes to be a truly great player, we discover how hockey can bring a diverse group of people together, how there's a place for everyone in the game, and how, with a little hard work and magic, it can even bring a whole town to life through ACCEPTANCE.

Editorial Reviews

"I was fortunate to have played 15 seasons in the National Hockey League. When I look back, I realize how important the game was to the development of who I am today — it instilled a sense of dedication, perseverance and compassion into everything I do. Whether you love hockey already, or are new to the game entirely, we can all learn something from Cam’s story." — Pat Lafontaine / Hockey Hall of Fame 2003
