True North: The Canadian Songbook is filled with sumptuous full-colour landscape photography by 22 Canadian photographers, complementary song lyrics, songwriter commentary, portraits featuring Canadian designers by V. Tony Hauser as well as behind-the-scenes shots by photographer Greg Locke. The 32 track double CD that accompanies the book is Eleanor McCain’s sixth studio album and showcases her renditions of classic hits like Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah, Joni Mitchell’s A Case Of You, Neil Young’s Helpless, Jann Arden’s Good Mother, Sarah McLachlan’s Angel, Gordon Lightfoot’s If You Could Read My Mind, and Bryan Adams’ Run To You.
