Each 32-page unit in the series is concise, focused, and written below grade-level. Students are encouraged to jot notes in the margin, and underline or highlight important information within the text. Each lesson includes: a reading strategy to help students navigate the text a think aloud that models the reading strategy a brief summary of the key concept helpful review questions
About the authors
Jennette MacKenzie has been an educator for more than 30 years and has enjoyed many roles: classroom teacher, teacher-librarian, consultant, principal/co-ordinator of programs for elementary and secondary schools. Jennette has worked extensively for Brock University, teaching principals' training courses and additional qualifications courses. She has worked at the Faculty of Education and at the provincial Ministry of Education and Training. Jennette works extensively with teachers and administrators across the country providing in-service and workshops.
