Folksongs of the Maritimes is a wonderful introduction to the musical traditions of eastern Canada. This guide is an invaluable companion to that collection.
The teaching guide is designed to show which songs can be introduced at each stage in the music curriculum as outline by the Nova Scotia Department of Education guides for Grade 4 to 9.
Many of the songs may be incorporated into the classroom from Grades Primary to 9, and are of interest to the musical public at large.
