Hockey fans throughout North America will enjoy this beautiful and richly illustrated record of the lives and careers of the nearly 400 players, builders, and on-ice officials whose signal contributions to hockey, and not merely the National Hockey League, have led to their enshrinement in the Hall of Fame located in Toronto. Beginning with Sid Abel and concluding with Steve Yzerman, the interested reader is treated to a brief account of the exploits of these fascinating athletes, enhanced here by the inclusion of photos depicting long-ago greats in their varied equipment and arenas. Notable as well are the vignettes explaining interesting trivia--such as "Who was born in Australia or Taiwan?"--and answers to trick questions such as which cities possess a small-size Stanley Cup trophy. The compilation of information on the female and European Hall of Famers is also noteworthy. This is a perfect addition to the reference and sporting sections of school and public libraries; for all hockey fans, young and old.
