Description
From the back country of the Thetford Mines region, to a convent hospital in the city of Québec, and finally to wide-open Montréal, France Théoret has drawn an emotional portrait of a generous, plucky young woman. Laurence is a remarkable novel from a period of Québec history which has seldom been visited in fiction, particularly by the voices of women.
