Description

Hockey, 130 years ago, was played at a slow pace with crude equipment and no substitutions. Today’s modern game is like quicksilver on ice, with elite athletes in high-tech gear going allout for short shifts and changing on the fly. Complete Hockey Records celebrates hockey’s growth, covering every aspect it, and the great men and women who play it. Fully revised and updated to include the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games and the 2013–14 NHL season, hockey history, complete records, club-by-club highlights, and biographies of great stars make the game come alive, as NHL, Olympic and International Ice Hockey Federation records and photos make up each colorful spread. Minor pro, international youth play, awards, all-stars, the amateur draft, and college and junior hockey are all covered. This book will settle many an argument and provoke many a spontaneous quiz.
