About the author
Natalie Thiessen's illustrations naturally reflect her surroundings; the colours, climate and people that she has encountered as a native of Manitoba. Based in Winnipeg and a graduate of Red River College's Advanced Graphic Design program, Natalie has designed and illustrated many educational publications as well as several children's books including Turtle Island, Bucky Beaver and I Like To Be for Native Reflections in Winnipeg.
Natalie ... has captured in wonderful detail much of what we love and enjoy about Manitoba. From beautiful patterns of garter snakes to an aerial perspective of a kayaker paddling alongside beluga whales, this collection of exquisite line art is an inspiration to all who engage in colouring as a mindful and meditative activity. — Frank Reimer, Instructor of Graphic Design at Red River College, Certified Graphic Designer (CGD)
