"Away But Never Gone" is a beautifully illustrated and moving book based on the author, Nicky Mehta's song of the same title, which appears on The Wailin' Jennys' 2011 CD entitled " Bright Morning Stars". This gorgeous book is aimed at children from the ages of 1-8 and adults who love artful childrens' books. The Author hopes that the book, with its nod to the cycles of nature, will act as a grief aid for young children.

Nicky Mehta is a singer-songwriter and founding member of the internationally-renowned, JUNO Award-winning folk/roots band, The Wailin' Jennys. She lives in Winnipeg, MB with her husband and twin boys.
Kimberley Slezak is a self-taught artist who finds inspiration in the landscape and wildlife that surround her home town of Kenora, Ontario. She specializes in realistic and experimental animal portraits and likes to paint with a soft colour palette to bring a calming feeling to her artwork. Her paintings have been shown in several galleries in Northwestern Ontario and Manitoba.
