In the high school and university, many students gain the graduation certificate by acquiring enough credit scores. So their course selection is like ordering from a restaurant menu.

Appetite: All the courses in the first term are appetites. Principal: not too big, otherwise you won’t have enough room for the main meal.

Main course: Main courses are the courses that you must complete in order to get the degree. Must chew slowly and go deep.

Side dish: Side dishes are the electives, the courses that resonate with you the most. Explore yourself and the world.

Soup: Soup has the nutrients necessary for your body and brain. Soup courses could be music, band, sports teams, or religious groups.

Salad: Salad is the food that supports the main course. For example, writing, debating, reading, or studying abroad.

Dessert: Painting club, swimming club, hiking club, drama club---it could be a Finding Nemo club too.

On campus, most students are too busy to complete what’s on their plates. They try to complete various assignments and projects. They follow the professors’ advice and try to get things done before the deadline. These daily tasks become a routine. If the students are bound to the routine by using 100 percent of their time, they will kill their creative spirit, leaving a spiritual bankruptcy.

A student may feel competent to calculate some math, do a lab for physics according to Newton’s Laws of Motion, or finish reading pages one through 100. As long as he spends enough time on homework, it will be done. But if a student is asked to create, he may feel that this is much more difficult and have no clue how to begin.

To build something from nothing, you need to have creativity. Students often believe that it is hard to be creative.

At work, if you talk about a project or business straightforward, you are boring. Your business or project may suffer simply because you are not interesting or charismatic. You must have fun and add spice into your life. Life is like a drama, so you need to create a show. Do role-play rather than reading scripts all the time. You must have fun. Why? Fun builds creativity. Creativity is a major factor for human success and happiness.

Fun, by definition, is enjoyment, amusement, or lighthearted pleasure. The experience of fun is often unexpected, informal, or seemingly purposeless. Fun can be an enjoyable distraction, diverting the mind and body from a serious task or contributing an extra dimension to it. Being playful, spontaneous, and creative is crucial to fun. One may encounter fun during work, social functions, activities, or study. Normally, there is not too much logic involved.

Optimistic thinking could be a good source of creation, too. Adding surprises to other people everyday could also be a good effort. By offering other people a surprise you give them a turning point in real life. You could deliver it in the form of shock, comedic delight, or physical human prowess. Your surprise gives others lots of enjoyment without their expectation. Even though no one asked you to do it, this little extra will allow you to stand out from the group. People will like you and remember you, just because you gave them good feelings and made their day delightful.
