Joanne Schwartz

Joanne Schwartz was born in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, and she is a children's librarian with the Toronto Public Library. She is also the author of Our Corner, Grocery Store, illustrated by Laura Beingessner, a picture book that focuses on another aspect of cities - the importance of local stores in urban communities. She lives with her daughters in Toronto.
