About the Authors
Daina Augaitis has been a curator of contemporary art for fifteen years in artist-run centres, alternative organizations and public galleries. In 1986, she began a nine-year period at The Banff Centre where she was curator and director of the Walter Phillips Gallery and led visual art residency programs. She is currently chief curator/associate director at the Vancouver Art Gallery. Her exhibitions and publications have frequently addressed cultural and social issues.

Sylvie Gilbert is a curator who has developed art exhibitions that explore critical issues in contemporary culture. She was curator at the Walter Phillips Gallery from 1989 to 1994 and currently works as an independent curator in Montreal.

Lorne Falk specializes in vision building, strategic planning, content engineering and program development in new media, multidisciplinary and global environments. Until recently, he conceived and directed an international research and professional development program for artists and thinkers at The Banff Centre. He has written and published more than sixty critical essays and produced nineteen publications about creativity, media and issues that cause change and affect trends in today’s world. He lives in Hong Kong.
