Description

Pointe Maligne, retrouvée par les textes is an astounding collection of writings penned by New France explorers, missionaries, cartographers, and others who discovered the St. Lawrence River from Pointe Maligne (Cornwall) to Lake Ontario.
Guided by writer Nicole V. Champeau, the reader embarks on a life-changing geographical, historical, and literary—even dreamlike—journey up the St. Lawrence between Montreal and Lake Ontario. A parallel, historical journey, as well as a quest for identify, are weaved into the narrative. Recipient of the Governor General's Literary Award for the first instalment of her collection dedicated to the historical discovery of the rugged and mythical Ontario seaway.
Published in French.
