Yes, that was a fun headline to write ... and only possible because its inspiration is so wild: Melissa Edwards' The Geist Atlas of Canada: Meat Maps and Other Strange Cartographies (with an introduction from Stephen Osborne). On its page at Geist, this uncommon atlas is described as being "packed with 50 maps from above the 49th parallel, including the Beer Map of Canada, the Hockey Map of Canada, the Doughnut Map of Canada, and the Angst Map of Canada." In a more nuciferous vein, there is Will Ferguson's review:
"Addictive and endlessly fascinating, it’s the book equivalent of cashews. Try to read just one page. I dare you!"
Published by Arsenal Pulp Press in 2006, The Geist Atlas of Canada has been around for a while, but its wonderfulness is deserving of attention every month of every year according to us. Melissa and Arsenal have given us permission to highlight three of our favourite maps in today's post (zoom in for better visibility); to indulge in more and the great text write-ups accompanying them, you'll just have to get your hands on a copy.
