Tips

(1) You can zoom in using the zoom tools on the map.

(2) To get out of a map view at any time (e.g., if you've zoomed in too much), click RESET MAP.

(3) Search results will appear below the map; scroll down to see after a search.

To discover or browse books on the map, you can:

  1. Search books on the map (type in a book title).
  2. Filter by theme to see only books tagged by that theme.
  3. Add a comment or tag to a book you've found on the map.
  4. Share links to individual books or themes on the map via email, Twitter, Facebook, and more.

To add a book to the map, you'll be asked to:

  1. Specify the province in which the book will appear.
  2. Click and drag the book icon (the pin for your book) to where you want it on the map.
  3. Explain why you've pinned it to this location.
  4. Type in the book name you want to add (this will launch a search through the 49th Shelf database).
  5. Choose a theme (optional).
  6. Click CREATE PIN. Your book will appear on the map, presto!
