About the author

Karen Tyrell, CDP, CPCA is a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) and Certified Professional Consultant on Aging (CPCA). For nine years, she was directly involved with her local Alzheimer Society Chapter in Eastern Canada as Board member, President for four years and Executive Director for two and a half years. Shortly after moving to the West Coast of Canada in 2009, Tyrell established a dementia consulting company called ‘Personalized Dementia Solutions.’ She passionately supports and educates caregivers through various services and through facilitating workshops such as “Cracking the Dementia Code™” and “How to Maintain a Healthy Brain.”
