This is the sequel to the popular and celebrated Jeremiah and Mrs. Ming, which won several international awards for illustration.
Jeremiah now visits Mrs. Ming, his erstwhile babysitter, as she works through her household chores. Jeremiah wants to help. He sweeps for a few moments, then gallops away on the broom. He tucks a bit of blanket under a mattress, then bounces high enough on the bed to reach the ceiling. He puts away groceries, then builds a tower of cans and challenges Mrs. Ming to knock it down!
Mrs. Ming does! She bounces with Jeremiah on the bed; she follows him on her broom; she hides from him as he chases her. Playing with Jeremiah is much more fun than housework. Jeremiah has made her day.
