Nuptse and Lhotse are back for another marvellous adventure! Welcome to the Canadian Rockies, a place where bears prowl around valleys and glacier blue lakes. When Mrs. Jasper, a very large grizzly bear, loses her twin cubs Yoho and Kootenay between Paradise Valley and The Valley of the Ten Peaks, she needs Nuptse and Lhotse to help her find them. As they make their way through this world-famous landscape, the cats will learn what makes the mountain lakes turquoise, what the fastest way to get down a couloir is, what not to do when you are in a canoe, how to cross an icefield, who belongs in these national parks and why bringing your most favourite thing on an adventure might just save the day.

Jocey Asnong was raised by a pack of wild pencil crayons in a house made out of paper and stories. After finishing several years of illustration school at Sheridan College, she left the land of maple trees in Ontario and moved to the mountains of Alberta so she could wear mittens most of the year. When she is not chasing her cats around her art cave in Canmore, she might be caught in a blizzard near Mount Everest, or running away from wolf dogs in Mongolia, or peeking out castle windows in Scotland, or sleeping under the stars in Bolivia. This includes an explanation of the blue-green colour of the mountain lakes that is part of the cats’ stop in Lake Louise and homage to legendary mountain photographer Byron Harmon. These details make good entry points for further classroom learning and connect to a number of curriculum areas.
