Will Gadd is an elite multi-sport athlete with championships in sport climbing, ice climbing, and paragliding. He has established new climbing routes and set world records over his peripatetic and productive 30-year career as an athlete, teacher, coach, public speaker, television host, and author. He was named a United Nations "mountain hero" in 2019; his mission is to raise awareness of environmental issues, in particular environmental protection of mountains, where early indicators of the effects of climate change are already becoming visible.
