In this unit, students will have the opportunity to examine the popular world of music. In the course of the unit, students learn about the general structure of a song, rhyme, melody, and rhythm. They explore the importance of creating "hooks" and developing effective creative thinking skills. Students also examine popular authentic songs and their origins. Final Task: Students create a music video.

Age appropriate, full-colour and motivating themes, containing opportunities for speaking, listening, reading, and writing, presented in a variety of formats. Also included are models of final tasks, video clips, learning strategy boxes, and examination of grammar in Quête-language boxes. A mini reference hand-book "Mini-guide", located at the back of the student book, includes literacy strategies, additional information related to the theme, and a summary of all language structures presented in the unit.
