Behind the Sorcerer’s Cloak

The fourth installment in The Summer of Magic Quartet is a well-told fantasy and mystery involving four children in past and present events on the Isle of Man. The previous volume ends with Adam lost in a magic portal in the Dark Being’s domain, unable to return. The other children and their adult companions go to the Isle of Man, where Holly had, in a dream, seen the Lady being buried. Holly is the only one who can order the beads to waken the sleeping Lady. There is much action between the forces of Dark and Light, and a long-awaited confrontation does not have a clear winner. Adam is saved and there is reconciliation between the two forces. The children return to their home where Chantel and Adam’s parents do not resolve their differences, but both will listen to their children’s wishes.

The author has been nominated for the Silver Birch, Hackmatack and Manitoba Reader’s Choice Awards.
