M. Lane

Shane Neilson is a New Brunswick-born poet, physician, and critic who often writes on themes of illness and disability. He is also a PhD candidate and Vanier Scholar in the English and Cultural Studies Department at McMaster University. He won the Robin Blaser Award in 2015 and was shortlisted for the Trillium Poetry Award in 2011. He edited How Thought Feels: the poetry of M. Travis Lane (Frog Hollow Press 2015), the first book-length critical study of a New Brunswick poet published in over 20 years. He is also editing Heart on Fist: The Selected Prose of M. Travis Lane that will be published in Fall 2016 by Palimpsest Press. Shane's most recent book of poetry is On Shaving Off His Face that was published by the Porcupine's Quill in 2015.
