A challenging life, to say the least

This story is about the Aminata as she grows up in Africa, and she is caught up into slave-trading, her trek to America, and how all that works out. Then her story continues as she grows up and experiences life which takes her back to Africa and then to America and up to Canada and back to America. All the while, she searches for her family and creates the Book of Negroes (aka Someone Knows Your Name) in reference to the book's title.
